Holiday Gift Guide for Your Fit Friends and Family

The holiday season and Black Friday are right around the corner! For those who have fitness enthusiasts in their lives, finding the perfect gift can be a fun challenge. Whether your loved ones are CrossFit athletes, weightlifters, runners, or group fitness regulars, I’ve compiled a list of thoughtful and practical gifts they’ll appreciate, based on my experience working with athletes across Wilmington.

1. Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are versatile and portable, making them perfect for athletes who love to work out on the go or warm up before a heavy lifting session. Available in different resistance levels and lengths, they can be used for strength training, mobility, and injury prevention.

2. Foam Rollers

Recovery is just as important as training, and foam rollers are excellent for myofascial release and muscle recovery. They help target tight muscles and enhance mobility.

  • For a budget-friendly option, consider this high-density foam roller from Amazon.
  • For a premium choice, a vibrating foam roller from Hyperice provides an extra level of muscle relief.

3. Athleisure

With so many brands out there, it’s hard to choose, but my recent favorites are Vuori and Bylt Basics. Vuori offers a range of clothing options, but their soft, cozy joggers are a standout. First-time customers can get 20% off!

Bylt has an impressive selection of men’s and women’s clothing, and their high-quality basics are perfect for both lounging and casual outings. They frequently offer bundles and discounts, making it easy to stock up on essentials.

4. Sneakers

I’m loving my Flux sneakers lately. You already know I often promote barefoot training, but these have been perfect for days in the clinic and demoing exercises. I recommend the Flux adapt runner, which has a wider toe box that lets toes splay in a more natural position instead of being cramped into narrow shoes.

5. Kettlebells

Kettlebells are a great addition to any home gym, allowing for a variety of full-body workouts. They are extremely versatile and you can get a full body workout with just one small piece of equipment!

Try this 10 minute EMOM if you’re short on time:
Odd minutes: 5 KB swings, optional progression to American KB swings
Even minutes: 1 Turkish get up per side

7. Personalized Training Journals

For those serious about tracking their progress, a training journal can be a thoughtful and useful gift. A personalized notebook where they can track lifts, personal records (PRs), nutrition, and daily workouts would make a great companion for their fitness journey.

8. Massage Guns

Percussion therapy tools like the Hyperice or Theragun can aid in recovery, reducing muscle soreness and stiffness, primarily by stimulating blood flow and desensitizing the muscle tissue. These tools provide targeted deep tissue massage between workouts.

9. Fitness Class or Gym Memberships

If you’re unsure about a physical gift, consider purchasing a membership or gift certificate to their favorite gym or somewhere they’ve been talking about but haven’t actually tried yet. Whether it's a drop-in at CrossFit Reignited, Unleashed or TruFit, a pass to try out E-Motion (strength and studio classes) or F45 Training, this is a great way to support their passion!

10. High-Quality Water Bottles

Staying hydrated is critical, especially during intense training sessions. At Conquer Movement, we believe hydration is a key factor in your recovery process, check out this blog for more information! In order to hit water intake goals, keeping a water bottle with you throughout the day can go a long way. Help your loved ones stay hydrated with a high quality reusable water bottle. I love using my Ice Shaker, which doubles as a water bottle and a protein shaker.

No matter who you’re shopping for, these fitness-focused gifts are sure to keep your friends and family inspired, motivated, and ready to crush their goals in the new year! Whether they’re a gym newbie or a seasoned athlete, these presents can bring extra joy to their fitness journey.

To make this holiday season just a little bit easier, Conquer Movement is offering 20% off all resistance bands, mobility tools and massage tools in-office!

Happy holidays and happy gifting!
